You might also rollback to the v4.6.1 .Net Framework and see, if the error disappears in your system...

Switching to v4.0.1.39 might help, but that seems also impossible for you. I don't know why, since various other users already did update and had no issues - so I am also lost at this point and it seems, that something more general is not okay in your setup - maybe? I myself tested the .39 on 3 diff...

At this point just go back to your previous version... which is backed up in the Previous Version folder... In addition you might also use the extra application/tool called "ProppFrexx RemoteView" - which 'mirrors' the main timecode information to a secondary window in a larger scale. This tool is contained in the installation folder and comes for free.

Look odd indeed, however, I have provided a v4.0.1.39-beta; which is almost the same as the official v4.0.1.38, but just includes various extra checks to prevent the issue from happening again...
