PFP and scheduling

Post by SiriusRadio »

I created any Top 40 lists from 1970 thru 2005.
Stored in PF as PFP with a unique name.
Now I want a top 40 every day in my playing schedule between 8.00 and 10.00, 10.00 and 12.00 to 18.00 etc.
These are 5 frames per day, times seven is 35 frames. Each week again.
At week 35 all listings for week 35 etc.
Now I have three questions.
How can I automate this?
How do I keep a list 2 times is rotated?
How can I ensure that the lists are distributed random?

Ohh yes, I am sorry, the current version still limited the folder content reading to audio files, but not playlist files.
The latest v4.0.1.49-beat version already allows to use playlist files with the LoadFolder mode.

So please "Check for Beta-Versions..." - which is located under the blue question mark icon at the very top right of the main window.

On which version are you on... I guess on a v4.0.x.x. version?
I just tried it here and it makes a difference...when using "Check for Beta-Versions..." - the pop-up day... v4.0.1.49 !

What does your pop-up say?

First create a media library using your Top40 .pfp playlist file!
You can then include your Top40 media library in your schedules, by simply adding a related script-line to these scheduled scripts.
E.g. use the script-line mode 'Random', 'LeastTimesPlayed' or 'LeastRecentlyPlayed' - these will ensure your Top40 list is distributed randomly.
Note, that pure 'Random' means, that repeats are allowed!

Note sure what you mean by: "How do I keep a list 2 times is rotated?" - can you explain this again with greater detail.

It basicly means that, when a file is played, not be selected untill all others beiing played.

So if you really want to NOT play an entry again until really ALL other entries are played, this is not random anymore.
This is a simple Sequential mode then ;-)

Or, as said above, to give it a little more random 'feeling' use the 'LeastTimesPlayed' or 'LeastRecentlyPlayed' mode!
This evaluates the number of play outs resp. the time it was last played and for equal number/time it chooses an entry randomly.

Bernd.
The script doesn't do what i want.
As there are 52 weeks in a year, have 52 maps with 52 PFP lists with 40 songs in every list ( the then number 1 till number 40).
Now, the script plays songs from several PFP lists.
What i need is that PF selects 1 list, plays all 40 songs and than starts with the regular schedule automaticly.

Question 2.
When i get this working, the script needs to select only the lists from week 31, in week 32 it selects only PFP list from folder week 32 and so on.
How to do this ( for me is is a serious quest).

The script must do the following.Everyday PF have any Top40 list of the directory week # 32 where they get in it, see picture above.
Then plays PF 2 tables per day, 14 per week. That is all in week # 32.
In week # 33 PF does the same but loads all lists from the folder in week # 33.
Each list will be played in full, then PF continue regular programming. From now the tables will be played all over the year ( which means 52 week pro year).

What do you mean by "play 2 tables per day" ? What is a table?
And what is 'regular programming'?

A Table is just a saying, like a timetable, it actually means 2 top40 lists, completely played.
Regular programming means that PF just takes over with the next script etc.
