Libary mediatype and History

Hello - There seems to be some little Problems with the Lybarys, as in the overlays sometimes PF is not using the Media Type which is set for a libary, it sometimes uses f.Ex. News Type for Musik files or is setting the Mediatype of my News libarys from News to Jingle Type.

also some listeners reconed now, that our news are often not playing, only Starter or Closer, or the news without it. And with our News block, where we play 3 News in a block, the script is often playing 2 times the same news even though i have checked "Force libary history, and the history is set to -1 and there are much more than 3 News files in the Libary.

Anybody having the same problems?

Regarding the MediaType:
Please check if you might have manually set a MediaType for specific files directly, e.g. in its meta data.
Those would overwrite the default library setting.

Regarding your News scripts:
Sounds like your (global or library) song history settings might be the result of that.
Note that there are 3 different histories (media, script and global) if all of them are used in parallel the chance might be, that no valid entry could be found in your scripts.
Otherwise I can think of any other reason.
So please try to test your scripts manually in an empty playlist and watch your history to detect what the issue is.

Bernd, could you maybe once again explain exploitation and difference between those 3 histories (media, script and global)? Which of them has let´s say priority over other, etc.?

the order is:
1. Media Lib History
2. Script history
3. Global History

What every history 'fails' first (detects a duplicate) rejects that entry.

Two questions:

1) Are those histories depending on the user (I'm refering to UAC)?
2) Is there a way to tell which history failed the test?

Just asking.

1) no
2) not really, the first one failed will 'reject' that track, but this isn't logged/recorded anywhere

The mp3 with the single news in it does not have set any MetaData as the are recordet and copied than into the Folder. So this files in the Lybary should realy just take the news Type as this is the Libary setting.

So after testing and looking some days on this ...
so - it seems as if PF just has to be restartet after some day running. the history seems to work bader the longer PF is running and working a bit better after restarting. But still it does repeat news from the news libary even direktly after running - Means he plays a news file even though it has just runned. History is -0 and 6 mp3 ARE IN THE LYBARY:

Same with the Media Type - the longer PF running, the use of the mediatype is working very strangly even in the normal playlist. After restarting it works somewhat better.

I think history should be set to -1. Or?
