Hi there.

I have a serious problem.

I am using a AMD Athlon X2 2.01 GHz with 4 GB RAM.
Installation runs good with Proppfrexx but the Music is jerking.

Seems that the PC runs not stable but the CPU usage is about 20%.
I dont get what the problem is. Anybody got some tips for me?

Regards

Leo

Note, that the CPU is normallynever the real issue!
Typically this is either a buffer setting of your soundcard or your I/O sub-system (hard disk) isn't fast enough to deliver the data, which normally also boils down to your audio settings.

Which driver model are you using (WDM, WASAPI or ASIO) - and what buffer settings are you using with that?

I am using WASAPI and 0 ms Buffer.

A buffer setting of 0ms typically means it uses the default settings of your driver.
However, you might try to increase this value to e.g. 30ms and see, if that chzanges things.

Are all you music files you are playing are stuttering or only cetain one?
And what hard disk are you using to play the file from? Is it a fast local hard disk, a slow usb portable device or a network connected storage?

With WDM there is no problem. So i guess my soundcard is the problem.
May change this one for better Sound. :/

So thank u for the hint with driver mode of the soundcard.
I will check all the possibilities.

With better Souncards ASIO Driver is also availible?

The quality of the sound is almost the same no matter if you are using WDM or WASAPI.
And yes, professional cards typically always offer an ASIO driver to achieve lower latency.
Else you might also try the general Asio4All driver.
