Unfortunately the given error is a generic .Net Framework error. This is typically be thrown, if any other system issue occurred.
This might be a system driver issue leaving the application in an unstable state or any other external error

Have you done a system update recently, eg. a Win10 update which was unattended. And did not reboot? Or any other system driver update?
Or are you accessing the PC via RDP?

There were a bunch of windows updates ...

I will try to do a fresh install on another machine and see if that resolves the issue. I'm not using RDP.

Thanks for the quick reply.
