Hi Bernd I've now done a clean instal of the latest demo version v4, but still, the problem persists. Cannot find any way of rolling back on the Win 10 update of Net Framework or Runtime. I have now got it to a stable position where it no longer shuts down as soon as I try to connect to the server but it just tells me there is an unknown error occurred. This is very frustrating as PF has been proving to be a great piece of software, with so much packed in that it is a bit of a learning curve swapping from SAMs.

But unless I can find a solution I can only think that i'm going to have to bite the bullet and reinvest in SAMs :(

Please close PFv4 go to the ProppFrexx AppUserData folder (%appdata%\radio42\ProppFrexx\4.0)
And delete the file called „Default.mixer“ and than restart PFv4 again!

Yes, I've done that twice now and no change. I've tried to connect to the server using another program MiXXX and although it doesn't crash when connecting it still refuses to connect and reports an error but very few details. So this seems to be something that's blocking me from connecting to the SHOUTcast server and causing a conflict. Below is an Error report from Windows Event log when I try with PF.
I have now uninstalled .Net Framework and reInstalled with no effect. This is so frustrating, I'm googling all error reports to try and find a solution but vert little of it all makes sense to me. According to the Application Error, its the BASSENC.dll that's faulting but at the same time the .NET Runtime seems to be an issue

Looks like an error with an encoder, but could also be caused by a faulty configuration.

So I can assume, that your initial issue is solved, as you can now start ProppFrexx!
Else the encoder wouldn’t fail - so that is a good step forward.

Now we can search for the encoder issue.
What exact encoder profile are you using?
I.e. codec (mp3?), what settings (kbps, mode, quality, CBR?)
And which encoder have you configured (lame?)

Yes, having the encoder set to start on startup was what was causing PF to shut down straight away. When I reinstalled and set the new encoder I up unchecked that box and that allowed me to start troubleshooting. Now when I try to connect I just get (An Unkown error occurred) and only once since then has it shut PF down on trying to connect

Can you also show the encoder profile setup ?!
And are you using the default lame.exe encoder?
I am asking, since all is working fine for many hundreds of users - so something must be different in your setup and usage.
Probably related to your previous v3 setup?!

I'm not sure if any of this will help or if they are related but these event logs were all created when trying to connect to the server prior to PF shutting down.
This was before I got it stable to just report an unknown error msg in PF that I get now.

Are you using a SHOUTcast v2 server?
As you have currently configured to use a v2 server.

Or is it maybe a SHOUTcast v1 server?
If yes, remove the ‚Steam ID‘ from the Server config.

Also make sure you have the latest .Net framework properly installed, e.g. at least 4.8.
