Hi
I have an issue and I've searched and found nothing that relates to the problem.
For the past 4 months I've been running ProppFrexx with not issues, today I go to open the program and it goes through hall the loading screen, loads mixers etc and says its ready. then it terminates for no reason. I've now installed and reinstalled and the same issue repeats.

It just will no longer open

Is there anything reported in the file called Error.log which is located in the ProppFrexx AppUserData folder (%appdata%\radio42\ProppFrexx ONAIR\4.0)

Else if there is an Application crash windows will record that also in the Windows Event Log. Have you look there for related entries?

However something must have changed, as it wouldn’t Stopp all of a sudden. Was a windows update happening? New sound card setup? Or something a like?

Maybe it is similar like this, where a Win10 corrupted the .Net framework: http://www.proppfrexx.radio42.com/forum ... f=7&t=2624

The user reset Win10 to the last savepoint and reinstalled the latest .Net Framework and then all was working fine again.

Sorry for the delay in replying I was looking out for an email notification that there had been a reply.

I will go and check on what you suggest. I used an uninstall software to allow a clean install and managed to get the program installed and stable. I have now managed to isolate that the problem occurs when the encoder tries to connect with the server. So where I had it set for auto connect on startup it was just shutting the program down. Unclicking that I can now determine that the second it tries to connect to the server address it shuts the program down.

Nothing has changed in the settings and as I'm aware there have been no changes on the SHOUTcast server but clearly, some conflict has suddenly appeared

no ERROR Log but I ran Watcher and I get this
(WARNING: ProppFrexx ONAIR has terminated abnormally or was killed!)

Also, I'm unable to rollback WIN10 as the option to do so is not there. Apparently, I only have 7 days to rollback from an update

So there does seem to be an error occurring with Net Runtime, reading that link you provided sounds very much that this is the same problem. Windows update did a new Cumulative Update for NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for version 1909 only two days ago and yet I still have the problem.

From the error it seems, that you are still using a very old v3.x!
Note, that this version came to its end-if-life a few years ago and is for the same time not supported anymore!
Thus I am sorry, but I am afraid cannot here much.
I can also not find any license information from you. Which license did you once purchased?

it is the old V3 I had sitting around on the hard drive for a number of years uninstalled its the free version where you get a beep every so often and limited few hours to use. I was on SAMs before but upgrading to WIN 10 meant that my version was not compatible and required repurchasing SAMs at a cost so been trying out various broadcasters before purchasing as quite frankly all other radio software aside from SAMS that I've used have been useless with bugs or incompatible conflicts. So I've been giving the V3 a good run to get my head around and learning it before upgrading to purchase the latest version.

Of course!
When you want to purchase ProppFrexx you should and must of course Test the latest version, which is v4!!!
It wouldn’t make sense to test a very old and unsupported version.
V4 is even fully compatible with the v3 settings!
