Crashes / Not Responding

We have been having this problem for quite some time, and I simply can't figure out why. Our 24/7 running proppfrexx occasionally freezes and thus stops playing. I have noticed it is generally around 3-4 minutes past the beginning of the hour, but the hour which it happens on isn't consistent.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Note really. Andy hardware issues?
Any errors reported in the ProppFrexx Error-log file?
Any errors reported in the Windows Event Log?

When the 'crash' happens - try to create a 'Dump' file (from within the Windows TaskManager right-click on the ProppFrexx process and select to create a dump).

Nothing seems out of the ordinary, and the hardware is running great. On the next crash I can catch I will check it out a little closer and report back.

Yes, try to create the mentioned 'Dump' from within the TaskManager...

It happens here also sometimes ... lets say about every 2 till 5 Days. I will try to great such a dump next time when it happens, as PF is not writing anything about this in the error log.

Please also try to 'monitor', if this happens with certain audio files only (as I suspect, that it is related to this - which still shouldn't crash of course).

There is realy no pattern to this - sometimes he freezes with an empty overlay even. The watcher encounters the freeze but is not able to terminate the running pf and this results in not restarting sometimes

For a while this seemed to resolve itself for me, but as of late the issue has returned...

I still don't know its origin though.

Sometimes (and honestly) most often the root cause might be a system or OS issue.

You might also want to double-check this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=915

It can also result from a Windows or driver update which happened in the background (almost unnoticed)...

Without any details (error log, dump etc.) there is nothing I can actually do...
