Soft start segue near start time

Post by djcohh »

In the scheduler, when defined an entry with the following settings:

Type: Soft
Start Time: 12:00:00
Max Early: 60s
Max Late: 60s
Allow early: Yes

The expected segue time ranges are from 11:59:00 to 12:01:00, now here's the problem. The sample end of (prepared) 11:00 playlist:

1 - 11:56:00 Last song in 11 clock
2 - 11:59:15 Hour close jingle
3 - 11:59:30 Station jingle/station spot
4 - 11:59:50 Expected segue to 12 clock

The problem here is that proppfrexx would do segue at the 2nd item (I guess this is the expected behavior) but I want it to segue at the 4th item. (as it is closer to the defined start time)

My guess is that this is not a bug, so I think a schedule entry option to select if user want to segue at the nearest to the start time would solve this problem.

I'll add an option to handle your request (probably I even change the standard 'Soft' starttype accordingly), but probably in the release after the next one (which will probably be released by tomorrow),as it is a bit more complex and need thorough testing.

Added to v4.0.1.8 !
A new 'AllowEarlyCloseStartTime' option allows you to trigger the start early function not with the first ending track, but the track ending as close as possible to the StartTime.
So you need to check both: the 'Allow Start Early' setting AND the new option.
