Settings window opens slow

Post by meisterpropper »

Hi,

I use the latest PFOA version (32 bit) and if I click on the settings ribbon it lasts up to 3-5 seconds until the settings window opens. Does anyone have the same behaviour?

It might all depend on the speed of the hardware as there are around 500 settings to read.
There was no change in the last version with respect to the options dialog. So 5 sec. indeed sounds a bit long. 2 sec. might be normal though.

No, I´ven´t used PFOA for a longer time just installed updates.

There are no GPIOs active.

Maybe a reboot helps after the update?

However, it wouldn't matter if GPIO is active or not, the interfaces would need to be detected and listed in case you want them to become active.
But if you haven't changed the HW that wouldn't matter I guess.

Else I wouldn't know what it might be causing on your
PC?!

This problem occurs for a longer time - on 2 different pcs. I use usbReg - could this cause a problem? A hardware problem could not be possible, because one pc is a quadcore with ssd.

I just made a quick test here on 2 different systems and it took around 1 sec. to open.

Note, that the options dialog might try to read your GPIO ports, e.g. game ports, serial, midi ports etc. may be that operation is now slow?
Have you change anything with that respect recently?
