Question about Overlay

Hello,

I have tried to make a (news) overlay. But it will not work. First of all the advertising en news management icoon is not highlited, so i can not choose it. And when i make an overlay with playlist and i choose test overlay. Then the overlay is empty and will not execute.

What license have you purchased?
When the Advert & News Icon is disabled, this indicates, that your license is not sufficient.

Eg. to use Advert or News you need the Enterprise-Edition.

I am using the Professional edition (non-commercial) with Overlay/FTE support. Can i use Overlay without Advertising & News management?

Yes. But only with scripts or playlists.
And not as dynamic embedded overlay containers.
Ie. You need to schedule Overlays directly in the Overlay Player.

I am using the overlay function with a playlist. The show time is on 60 sec, but when it is time to play the overlay, the show time goes to 0 sec and the overlay function will not start. What do i wrong?

I have found it by myself. I have highligted Shouldsuppressoverlay in the script and then it will not work. But i still do not understand that the overlay works now with audio, but the screen Test Overlay is empty.

Then the playlist you specified can most probably not be loaded or is empty?!

Maybe you post a bit more details, like your exact overlay entry definition and your playlist incl. it’s file name. Er via a few screenshots.

The testing ('Test Overlay' menu item) is incorporated by using a dynamic embedded overlay container internally, which is only fully supported with the Enterprise Edition.
