Midi controller

Post by edzel »

Hi
I was thinking of buying a d&R webstation but is very expensive and as my station is a non profit station i do not have that kind of money to spend on a controller.

So my question is what conntroller can you recommend and can someone help me set it up?

Thanks in advance

What money do you have?
And what functionality do you want to control?
Note, that the D&R mixers are real audio mixers! While a MIDI controller is NOT!
So it is almost like comparing apple and oranges.

Hi
I have a mixer allready so im fine with that
In a dream world i would like to control the mic and the players
the volume and mute button
allmost like fader start.
My setup as of now is that i have a external mixer.
A sm7b connected to a JoeMeek threeQ i think its called (processor) then to a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6
then i have another soundcard as a output card

i have a https://www.infinitton.com/ it works ok but its not as good as a controller
for me im good with just controling the faders in proppfrexx (and not controlling the actual volume on the mixer)

As for budget i just want it to work but im happy with under $400

So I assume you basically want to control start and stop of the players and optionally the ProppFrexx ONAIR mixer channels?
(you of course cannot control your external mixer)

So something like this might do the job:
https://www.thomann.de/de/allenheath_xone_k2.htm
https://www.thomann.de/de/novation_laun ... xl_mk2.htm
other are from Icon, Qcon, Behringer.
Actually any offering a native MIDI interface (sending MIDI short messages) should just work fine.

NOTE: That I haven't tried these controllers myself - that's why I don't want to recommend any hardware here!

And I cannot provide tests for each and every device.
As said any standard MIDI controller can interact with ProppFrexx. And ever user has typically a totally different environment and need.

Hallo Bernd
I understand that you cannot give any guarantee but still do you know of any controller that works.

What are the possibilities of getting help setting it up?
