I have all looked at that and tried it.
GPIO client and Proppfrexx have the same version.
GPIO exension runs and port numbers are the same.
Mcafee virus scan / firewall uninstalled, windows defender disabled,

I have totality no idea what it can be.
What I say, the other system that is set up with the same settings, does work

Sounds like not only you are running out of ideas.
But...can you maybe do the following:
- go to the GPIO Client (Main tab) and activate the 'Debug Logging'
- go to the ProppFrexx ONAIR general settings, More Stuff and also activate the 'Debug Logging' there and OK the settings

Now open the GPIO Client Monitor for the device and hit some (just a few) buttons, faders etc. on your Mixer.
Now deactivate the 'Debug Logging' in both GPIO Client as well as ProppFrexx ONAIR.

Go to the AppDataUser folder of each of the two applications (%appdata%\radio42\<appname>\4.0) and send me both the created 'Debug_....log' files being created.
Maybe I can see any error in there, where the connection might got lost!

I have reviewed and tried all the above points. this has no positive result.
I now have the idea that the problem is in proppfrexx itself.
I get the included error message when I want to start the TCP monitor in proppfrexx.
Can you tell me where I can select the TCP port and enable the TCP control?

In the general settings all looks okay. The problem is for sure not within ProppFrexx, as it works for hundred of users including your other instance, where you reported it has no issues.
The message might also comes up, if the TCP Server could not be started.

Have you checked your Firewall settings, your Anti-Virus or Defender settings etc. to me it looks, as if some other system blocks the given port on the OS level.
E.g. try to disable temp. your Firewall and Anti-Virus to see, if that is blocking anything.

I have an ICT specialist look at it.
all virus scan and firewall are turned off.
the port 9042 does not exist in the TCP connections. It is not activated by proppfrexx, so the GPIO client can not connect.
would you otherwise be able to take part in a teamviewer session?

It is even more strange, that also the TCP Server Port 9052 is also not present. So there seems to be an even bigger issue on your machine.

Of course we can do a TeamViewer session according to these conditions: http://www.proppfrexx.radio42.com/purchase.html#support

But before, we might also try the following:
- go to the general settings, section More Stuff and activate the 'Debug Looging' - click OK
- now go to the Mixer panel and click on the 'RCM' popup button - the Remote Control Master/Slave window appears (like shown below)
- is the 'running' icon green next to the 'TCP Server' and 'GPIO Extension'?
- regardless, make a double-click on the two icons (as indicated in the image below) to deactivate and react it, e.g. from Online to Offline and back to Online
- now go back to the general settings, section More Stuff and deactivate the 'Debug Looging' - click OK

Now please send me the "Debug_....log" file generated, which is located in our ProppFrexx AppUserData folder
(e.g. %appdata%\radio42\ProppFrexx ONAIR\4.0)

Everything is turned off in the RCM. I can not turn anything on if I double click.
Is there a way to completely remove proppfrexx?
If I do that through control panel and then reinstall proppfrexx, he has remembered all settings. (even if I delete the radio42 folder in programfiles.)
I will first try to completely reinstall proppfrexx.

there is nothing in the debug log file.
but I can not open the GPIO client anymore.
I would like to run a clean installation first.
