Quick question about overruling
Quick question about overruling
Hi Bernd,
just to be sure this question:
If the modstream is running and an overlay is going to play, will the overlay take over the sound and will the modstream be muted? And when that overlay is finished playing, does the sound of the modstream reappear?
I think it works like this, but I'm not sure anymore.
Regards,
Jesper

That's all I wanted to know. Thanks!
Re: Quick question about overruling
I tried but the modstream sound is not forwarded after playing an overlay
I planned it like this: When the overlay plays, the modstream loads.
So when the overlay has finished playing, the modstream should start playing. The modstream does output audio, but somehow it is not forwarded to my output channel. I have checked the routing setting and it is on the correct audio channel.
What could be the reason for this?

Re: Quick question about overruling
I can not reproduce this here.
Is the modstream being outputted correctly without using the overlay? If no, you might need to check the routing again - or maybe there is no signl on that stream being played by the modstream?

Re: Quick question about overruling
I tested it here again. There is no overlay and no playlist. When I start the modstream it works fine.
Then the scheduler loads an overlay with the news. This will play and the modstream will be loaded during playback of that overlay. This does have a signal because the vu meter of the modstream reacts and I just tested it before.
When the overlay has finished playing, the modstream will display: 'waiting for available player slot' There is no playlist running so you would think the modstream should start playing automatically.
But even if I press 'skip', the sound is still not forwarded
If I close the modstream and open it again, no sound will be forwarded again, while the modstream does send a signal and says 'active and playing'
If I do the same again, so close and open, the same result again.
Only when I restart ProppFrexx does the modstream work properly again and the sound does come through.

Re: Quick question about overruling
I guess it’s because you load the MODStream after the overlay and have no playlist.
But I’ll double check your edge scenario...

Re: Quick question about overruling
Can you show me your MODSTREAM_WATCHER_START comamnd you are using?
And did you set the 'startWithNextTrack' parameter to true or false - it should be set to false in your case in order to start immediate.

Re: Quick question about overruling
I have the following command in the overlay settings:
on playing:
MODSTREAM_WATCHER_START http://stream:url|true|false
And I unchecked 'StartWithNextTrack' in the modstream settings.
But same results. During the overlay, the modstream appears. Load the stream url well and wait for the overlay to finish.
When it is finished the modstream should start playing. But it keeps waiting until a slot is available, and when I press 'skip' it says 'active and playing' but the sound is not forwarded.

Re: Quick question about overruling
The check boxes in the config dialog are only used when you use the MODStream ribbon button.
Else all parameters are given directly o
In the Control-command!
