Remote PFOA viewer?

Hi Bernd,

We're thinking about a new show with 3 presenters, each from home.

Is there some way to have one presenter controlling one instance of PFOA and the others being able to view this instance over the internet to see what songs are coming up? If so, which licenses would be needed?

Thanks again!

You would need one Professional Edition on the Server side I assume. Not sure about your other requirements, eg. if it’s commercial you might even want to use the Enterprise Edition.

And you might use the Remoter Viewer app on the other client sides for free. Not sure how you want to transport the remote audio signal from the remote locations to the server location?
Note, that ProppFrexx ONAIR doesn’t handle any direct real-time audio transfer from the remote location by itself, eg. you might use some external virtual cable decide based on audio over IO (AoIP).
And thus you even might want to use ProppFrexx as well on the remote side? But here the Basic or Oremium Edition might be fine.
Again it depends on the use and our license terms:
The non-commercial license would apply:
- for pure private use
- no money making (ie. non-revenue!), which doesn’t mean non-profit!!
- less than 250 listeners

Hi Bernd,

Thanks for the explanation. It's for hobby internet radio (unfortunately definitely less than 250 listeners a day and no revenue). I have one Professional license. The others will only be using a microphone. Getting the audio in sync between our locations will probably be the hardest part. I'll look into AoIP.

If anyone has some good recommendations for low-latency audio over the internet, I would love to hear them!

Oh, almost forgot: why are there both a 'remote connect' and 'local connect' sections? Can I use the 'local connect' to send control commands to a remote PFOA?

Thanks,

Frank

The local is typically needed to eg. trigger local playback a ruins, while the remote connection is what you described to see/monitor the state of a remote ProppFrexx instance.

Thanks, last question: is there a separate installer for my co-hosts that only need the Remote Viewer?

No, there is not. They can install the demo version, but only use the Remote Viewer.
