webdav drive and ProppFrexx

Post by Erris »

Maybe intresting, i use ProppFrexx on a Windows 2016 server with latest update, Propfrexx version is 4.2.3.0 and i use a remote storage that connects to te server with webdav.

The problem is, if i want to insert the maps in media library my whole Proppfrexx is not responding, there is no error what zo ever.

is this an issue? or am i looking the wrong way with this.

WebDav is a slow HTTP (internet based) protocol, e.g. it is not designed for real-time audio processing.
Are you storing and maybe playing audio files from that storage.
If yes and you experience the issue then, I guess you need to move your audio files to a faster device, which supports parallel access.
The issue here seems not to be ProppFrexx, but WebDav!

Hi Bernd,

You are right, i found out via sourcecontrol that propp was waiting on network i/o after searching is found a nice tool to run propp smoothly with stack by using SFTP the tool is caled raidrive it creates an networkdrive while connecting to SFTP works like a charm.
