Control PFOA using midi controller?

Post by franksiegers »

Hi Bernd,

I was thinking of replacing my mouse and keyboard by a midi controller.

Would something like this be a able to perform certain tasks in ProppFrexx?

I would like to map certain keys, like Shift-Del to a pad button and use the scroll wheels to browse trough the directory explorer. I'm not sure how this works: Would I map these functions in software from the midi controller so it acts like an emulated mouse/keyboard or do I need to program this in PFOA?

Thank you,

Frank

With the MIDI mapping you can execute any defined control-command. This mapping is pretty straight forward and there is even a mapping tutorial video in the general forum section.
Scrolling thru the directory explorer is not a simple mouse or keyboard action, eg. if you have currently selected the playlist window the keyboard acts within that window.
Check all available commands and we can see how Dir you come.
But it won’t act like a dedicated DJ controller, as this is a radio automation system.
