How to skip a jingle when exiting overlay player

Post by djgait »

Hi Bernd,

I'm fiddling around with the Demo and i must say, unbelievable great program you have made!

I came across a question you might find simple to answer.

I have programmed a script and set it up to run during the whole afternoon (non-stop). The script contains a jingle insert every 2 to 5 tracks.

I want to play a news block every hour and has programmed it in the overlay scheduler. The block ends with the Top of the Hour jingle and set to suspend the current program.
However, when a jingle is on top of the playlist, it occures that after the TOTH, the jingle is played.

Is there a way to prevent this?

I am affraid that this is currently not possible.
As once the OVL finishes, it just resumes with the current playlist being suspended.
But it doesn't check or automatically 'ejects' certain tracks.

However, I might take a look into it, as with a new OVL-option this should actually be made possible.
So that's put onto the wish-list for a next release.

Thanks for your quick reply!

Maybe you could update the control commands so that there is a PLS_CURRENT_PLAY_NEXT_TYPE kind of function where you can set the type of the item to be played as next. Or a PLS_current set next type
