No sound input after restart
No sound input after restart
Hello,
After restarting ProppFrexx it don't detect audio on the input fader. We are using OPNAM for recording everything that come's out of our external mixer. But after restarting ProppFrexx i first need to move the fader in de ProppFrexx mixer. After that sound is coming in to the mixer panel, and it is recording sound again. Before that it is quiet in the recorded file.
Do i something wrong?
Thanks, Martijn

Re: No sound input after restart
What are your exact mixer input settings?
- Driver Model (ASIO, WASAPI, WDM), Device and Input being used and what mute/unmute mode are you using etc.
- and what ProppFrexx-Version and Windows-OS version are you using
However, it sounds like it is an issue with your windows sound settings.
By default, a ProppFrexx mixer input channel 'records' the sound level as set within the Windows Sound Control Panel (Windows Mixer).
E.g. if that input device is e.g. muted or set to a silent level ProppFrexx won't record it when it starts up.
But to really answer the question I need the above questions answered, e.g. it might also be the case, that another application mutes/changes the volume of the input device or it might be a soundcard setting issue...

Re: No sound input after restart
Okay, now I can reproduce the issue - which is only related to the 'Mute/Unmute Input' setting in your case.
However, the bug is actually the other way around as you described it:
"Mute/Unmute Input" mutes/unmutes the input audio signal. When muted any recording, streaming and output/SND routing will be muted as well.
As such moving the fader shouldn't enable it as long as the 'M' (mute) button is enabled!
As such it should only record something if the 'M' button is disabled AND the fader is up.
As such I guess you effectively wanted to use the 'Mute/Unmute Output' mode:
"Mute/Unmute Output" mutes/unmutes any routed output audio signal incl. any SND signal. When muted any recording and streaming will still process the input audio signal.
So simply switch the "Mute/Unmute" mode and that's it.
Btw, why are you using ASIO4ALL with the M-Audio 1010LT card (as this one should come with its much better native ASIO driver)?

Re: No sound input after restart
Should be fixed in v3.0.12.7 (as described above).
