Setup on a test pc and move to main

Post by hdradio »

Hello
I am trying to setup pf on a test pc and then move it to the main onair pc.
I need all my files and settings to be on the main pc.
So on settings I 've set (proppfrexx is a shared folder on onair pc)
Scheduler calendar as: \\OnAir\proppfrexx\Scheduler\ProppFrexx ONAIR.calendar
Script libraries \\OnAir\proppfrexx\Scripts
Advertising storage as: \\OnAir\proppfrexx\Advertising
Media libraries Auto playlist path: \\OnAir\proppfrexx\Playlist libraries\Media
Cartwall libraries Auto playlist path: \\OnAir\proppfrexx\Playlist libraries\Cardwall
Also I added a folder media library \\OnAir\MyMusic
and I created a few scripts to use this folder based media library.
When I setup pf on the OnAir pc and set the same settings as on test pc, nothing plays.
I think it can not find the MyMusic files.

So how can I move my setup to another networked pc?
And even better: How can two or more pc's share the same settings so make all the needed changes to a home pc without being at the onair studio ?

The two PCs do not have the same hardware. I have first setup the audio settings and confirmed that audio plays.
Then I set the same settings for script, calendar and all other folders as the test pc and click Run Scheduler and Auto Play but nothing happens. Not even an error message.

I 'll uninstall and start again everything because I 've made many changes while testing and I might did something wrong.

Then you should try to to see, if the scripts have really be loaded etc.
Maybe your 'other' PC is using some different paths or doesn't have access to some of the paths/files...that will probably be the issue.

When 'nothing plays' it is probably because you might not have granted access to the same paths?!
It might also be, because the two PCs are not identical in terms of their hardware.
I guess what you described above is almost correct! However, what about the soundcards, the mixer setup etc.?!
You can only share the exact same mixer setup and routing, if the two PCs are 100% identical - else each PC needs its own mixer setup - as the soundcards and drivers might be different!

I 've setup again and seems to work. Maybe the problem was at the name of the category of each folder based media library which was different.

I have some other questions but I 'll post them in a new topic.
