Can't close and exit
Can't close and exit
Hi Bernd,
When I want to close and exit Pfoa, the program freezes. The only way to close it is by using the taskmanager.
Greets,
Harm Jan.

Re: Can't close and exit
If you are not using any VST, than this issue is totally unknown to me so far.
What exact ProppFrexx version are you using?
What we can try to figure out exactly is happening is, that you might create a dump file when the process hangs.
I.e. open the TaskManager, select the "ProppFrexx ONAIR.exe" process and then right-click and select 'Create Dump File...'.
Once the dump file is created, please ZIP and send it me. it become rather big, so you might send it via WeTransfer or alike.

Re: Can't close and exit
Are you using any VST DSP plug-ins in any of your mixer channels, eg. an older version of StereoTool or any other VST?
If yes, please try to NOT use it temporarily and see, if that changes things.
I recall, that some VST plug-ins do hang when they are closed. E.g. the latest v8.54 of StereoTool.

Re: Can't close and exit
No I dont use any plug-in. It seems that Pfoa is waiting for the Remote GPIO Server to stop. Ive tried to first close the GPIO and than exit Pfoa but that wont work also

Re: Can't close and exit
I've send you the dump file (forgot to zip it, is that a problem?)

Thank you, have a nice weekend!!
Re: Can't close and exit
From the DUMP file, it actually looks, like the application hangs when trying to free the used audio devices.
As this is actually a system call to the native audio driver, it looks like an issue of the soundcard driver.
If possible, try to see, if you can get any updated soundcard driver.
The last visible status bar message is a bit misleading in this case, as when the app hangs, it won't update the other messages anymore.

Re: Can't close and exit
Windows says all drivers are up to date. I use windows 10 and my soundcards are: Delta 1010LT and the D&R Airlite USB souncard (in the mixer)
Re: Can't close and exit
Maybe it’s the Delta1010, as that isn’t supported anymore for Windows10?
Hard to say, as I can only see, that it got stuck while freeing an audio device.
What audio driver are you using?
If not ASIO, you might try that with the Delta1010 to see if that changes anything.
