Globalconfig parameter and network drive
Globalconfig parameter and network drive
New problem.
I try to use the "-globalconfig" for launching ProppFrexx with other config files than the ones which are into the "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\radio42\ProppFrexx ONAIR\3.0" folder.
For using the "-globalconfig", I have to launch the program "as administrator" otherwise, Proppfrexx keeps on the splashscreen and "loading"....
When I launch ProppFrexx "as administrator" ,I discovered that all my network drives are not displayed into the screens that let you choose a drive/file....
Is it a problem with Proppfrexx ? Or a specific thing of Windows 7 ?
I would like to use "-globalconfig" setting with the use of a network drive for managing audio folders.... How should I do ?
Regards,

Arf, I saw on the internet that it seems to be about Windows and elevated privileges....

Re: Globalconfig parameter and network drive
More precision :
- Using "-globalconfig \\192.168.xx.xx\config" ==> Doesn't work. Splashscreen and loading continuously....
- Using "-globalconfig Y:\" (Y:\ is a mapped network drive to the 192.168.xx.xx\config folder) ==> Doesn't work. Splashscreen and loading continuously....
- Using "-globalconfig \\192.168.xx.xx\config" as Administrator ==> ProppFrexx launches but not into the requested folder. I think "administrator" doesn't have right to my network folder... So, it can't connect. But, I don't know who user I have to allow when I use "as administrator".
- Using "-globalconfig Y:\" as Administrator ==> ProppFrexx launcheds but not into the requested folder. As I previously said, "Administrator" doesn't see mapped network drives...

Re: Globalconfig parameter and network drive
You´ve to specify the complete path, example -globalconfig Y:\PFOA\config
You can also see this within this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WActdv0Th5c (rather at the end)

Re: Globalconfig parameter and network drive
Yes, all this is NOT a ProppFrexx issue, bug or problem! It is all related to Windows user access rights.
You should ask you system administrator to grant you the rights to access the related network resources.
ProppFrexx can just try to access the paths/folders you specified - nothing more and nothing less.
But if your current user doesn't have the rights to do so - there is not much ProppFrexx can actually do
In the end, there is no need to run ProppFrexx with elevated user rights (Run as Administrator)!
It also seems, that you are trying to access a folder on a different PC/server - in that case make sure to grant access on that other PC/server (even a local 'Administrator' might not be allowed to access any folder on a different PC!).
