As you so far did not send me any settings and I heavily tested all scenarios here with the latest StereoTool v7.73 I can only assume it must be a combination of StereoTool not wirking with your ASIO driver or your StereoTool and/or ASIO settings.
I tested it on 3 different PCs with 3 different soundcards and it was never crashing here.

E.g. try to increase the ASIO buffer settings on your ASIO setup - maybe that helps?
