Max late overlay
Max late overlay
Hi Bernd,
We want to use the 'Max late' in the overlay setting so if a songs duration is less than 120 seconds it wil not be cut off by the overlay.
We use combined overlays,
This is our setting of the first overlay: And this is the second: And this is the setting of a program: What do I need to change to get the max late working?

Re: Max late overlay
Max. Late:
If the overlay is allowed to start Soft (or EndsAt), this defines how soft it will start.
Setting the value to 0 is the default, which means, it starts at the end of the currently playing track, if its remaining time is less than the 'Max. Start Delay' - else it will start early immediately.
If the value is greater than 0, the overlay starts at latest this number of seconds late. This means, the 'Max. Early' and 'Max. Late' time frame define the soft starting time range and a currently playing track is at least playing this long and is only started early if it ends in that range - else it is started this late.
Note, in case of EndsAt, the effective end time might be late. In case a 'Bridge Track' is given AND the 'Max. Stat Delay' is NOT reached yet, that bridge track will be played looped until the 'Max. Stat Delay' is reached.
So which overlay should have the 'Max. Late' option'?
In your case, where you try to combining multiple overlays in parallel with different and conflicting Start Types, this would only make sense (to me), if you set the 'Start Type' of all overlays to 'Soft' and then make sure to specify the exact same start time and show in advance time for all overlays.

Re: Max late overlay
The first overlay should have the max late option.
As long as the first one doesn't start the second does neither, right?
But if you have more overlays set it will always uses the settings of the first one, right? Such as; mixing time, max late?
But what if I change the second overlay to: soft
So first one: EndsAt, max delay:120 and max late:0
second one: Soft, max delay: 120 and max late: 0
Will it work?
And what about the program setting? Need that to be set at Soft as well?

Re: Max late overlay
Yes, in your case I would set all to Soft - incl. the Program.
