How to get the settings fixed for the directory explorer
How to get the settings fixed for the directory explorer
Hi Bernd,
Is there a possibility to get some settings within the directory explorer fixed?
Because each time I use the directory explorer I have to change the basic settings to the settings I want.

Not sure what you mean. Here is persists the TreeLayout just fine.
E.g. when I add a new column to the view, close PF and then restart PF is restores all columns as expected.
Please take a look to your ProppFrexx AppDataUse folder and locate a file called "ProppFrexx ONAIR.ExplorerTree.layout".
Maybe this file has been broken or is inaccessible.
Try to delete it and then try again and see if it is recreated.

Re: How to get the settings fixed for the directory explorer
About what I mean: everytime I use the directory explorer I have to "rebuild" the view.
After clicking on the green plus icon the chosen directory starts with the columns "Name", "Modified" and "Size KB".
With the column choser I remove the columns "Modified" and "Size KB" and add the column "Duration". Cause thats the column I want.
If I select another directory, I have to "rebuild" my view again. That's why I asked if it's possible to create fixed columns.

Re: How to get the settings fixed for the directory explorer
I understand. But here it is not happening, so please try to delete your "ProppFrexx ONAIR.ExplorerTree.layout" file and the restart PF and try again...
Note, that the Directory Explorer layout is only saved when you close PF or when you change the user (in case you are using UAC).
Also note, that in case you have multiple browser views, only the layout of the first view will be used to save the layout and as such all views will use that layout to restore its view.
E.g. when you just added new columns to one browser view and then click the + sign to add another browser view, this will not contain the newly added columns yet.
I.a. please make the following test:
- delete all browser views (click on the - sign so that all browser views are removed)
- close PF
- delete the file "ProppFrexx ONAIR.ExplorerTree.layout"
- restart PF
- create one browser view (click on the + sign)
- add and remove the columns as needed
- close PF
- restart PF
- the columns in the browser view should be restored
