Hi, thanks for having a look and assisting. Please see the link below with the tracks. I have got 2 versions of it.

I have even checked my replay gain settings and everything wondering if it was that, but that setting is set to OFF

Thanks.
I tested your soundbed track (you send me) with exactly your TalkUser settings.
But here I do NOT have any change in the volume of the soundbed or alike. The volume is constant and did not change at all.

Are you maybe using a VST/DSP which causes this? Or a feedback loop in your mixer settings? - else, I can unfortunately not reproduce your issue at all here. I tested even both file and also let tested it with a various TalkUser times, up to 20 minutes. All was working as expected with no change in the volume at all.

Hi Bernd

You helped me immensely, thanks. Based on your previous response I went back and had a look at my settings. I have AGC enabled on my OUT and MON outputs. This was increasing the volume of my bed music.

I need to see if I can disable this when TalkUser is enabled.

No, not automatically or via a control-command.
It sounds, that the build in AGC is in your case not appropriate, as this is the purpose of an AGC - which is here NOT wanted.
Maybe you should better use a limiter VST or alike.

Damn! I already created the control-command when TalkUser is ON and OFF ... to turn off AGC on OUT and MON outputs

You might take a look to some VSTs from ToneBoosters for example or for final Broadcasting take a look at StereoTools - they don’t slowly increase the gain.

Thanks for the information, will look into this.

Side note is there a way to independently control the volume of the soundbed track with its own volume slider? That would really be awesome.

No. The soundbed is an extra bed. When you need a manual one with extra and a manual control, you can use a Standby Player or Cartwall.

I am thinking of using the standby player after your suggestion. I tried to set up a command for TalkUserOn STANDBY_PLAY standby 1 to play player one but I keep getting an error. Am I doing something wrong with my syntax?

The command would be:

Code: Select all

STANDBY_PLAY 1
to play the 1st standby player.
