Microsoft Defender quarantains ProppFrexx ONAIR

Post by doobeedoo »

Hi Bernd

Last night Microsoft Defender placed our ProppFrexx ONAIR in quarantine (I think we ran version 4.4.1.0).

This morning I reinstalled the program after downloading it from the PF website. Again the program was quarantained after running for about 10 seconds.

Defender detects a Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml
I added the error message below (in dutch)

Kind Regards

Bernd

For the moment only one of our Proppfrexx PC's gave us trouble ... the others are running normally

Looks like a false positive, as scans here also with other anti-virus software are negative.
Please do report this false positive to Microsoft for a release.

OR your PC was infected, as only the link was reported?!
On my test PC I also do not get such reports, that’s why I cannot report it myself.

I again tested ProppFrexx via VirusTotal against 70 AntiVirus engines, incl. AVG, BitDefender, GData, McAfee, Microsoft, Kaspersky, Symantec, Sophos, Google, Avira, Avast and many more...PLUS online at Microsoft specifically!

NOTHING WAS DETECTED - the file is CLEAN.

As you also reported no further issue - I assume, that this was indeed a local issue on your side only.
