Titel update Overlay Editor

Post by Bob Van Dongen »

Best,

I have the next challenge. If I load an Overlay with, for example, a news message, everything plays properly, but the title is not written properly. In the settings I choose Use Overlay Description under Title Update, but it does not do this, it keeps to the overlay name and what I choose in the adjacent column, for example (Weather). Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Kind regards, Bob van Dongen

I have just tested it here and it works as expected.
a) Have you provided a description?
b) are you using mutipe overlays (maybe they are combined, in such case only the first overlays defines the settings)
Maybe you can post a screenshot of your Overlay Scheduler and our Overlay Editor settings...

I have done the same. What version do you have? And how are you testing things.
Eg. enable the status bar of the Network Monitor window. In that status bar you will see what is being send to the streaming servers.
In my tests the overlay (once it started to play; scheduler was running) updated the song title of the streaming servers with the overlay description.

I am using version 4.4.2.0

It is a web link that I load via the script library editor.
Players A and B then write the title via EXEC_WRITE_FILE when that deck plays. That is why I would like to have something other than the link written down

Below I will place two images, one of Proppfrexx player and one of the text as it becomes visible to our listeners. I would like the blue circle not to be there because of cleanliness.

Have a nice day and thank you very much again for your response

First also make sure you do not exclude streams from your title updates:
Streaming Options.png
In the Network Monitor Window (where you define your streaming servers) make a right click and make sure the item 'StatusBar Visible' is checked.
Now you can see in the StatusBar the SongTitle Updates...:

As you can see, when the Overlay starts, the SongTitle is updated accordingly.

Here is the related Overlay:

In that case (which is indeed a totally different case), you can define the name of the track title in the script-line when you define the container. I.e. here:
Overlay Container Trackname.png
In addition you can also specify the script-line title entry, when clicking on the small 'T' icon on the mode column:
