Managing database & metadata

Post by 789 FM »

We currently run ProppFrexx on a machine in our studio, which streams directly to our internet stream. Currently some people access this machine using TeamViewer. They use ProppFrexx to manage tags, intro's etc, but this is obviously not ideal as we are using the same instance for broadcasting.

I want to buy a license for some people at our radio station to manage the database from home. This would allow them to tag music, add cue points, etc.

How would we set-up something like this? Giving them a copy of the database and reimporting it every time is just not feasable. I also don't want to setup a network drive, I want to manage everything from within ProppFrexx.

Thank you!

ProppFrexx is not using a public database. All Audio Meta data is by default storedbdirwctly within the audio files itself (including all tags and cue-points etc.)

So the easiest way is, if you either grant external users access to your central storage of the audios or you sync them using any other tool, eg. the users get a copy, do locally edit the audios with their local ProppFrexx version and then your upload them again to your servers.
So there is no way to ‚copy‘ a database locally.
