Segue editor : not saved
Hi Bernd,
As mentioned earlier I'm experimenting with setting up a system using the Media Library Server. When doing so, I found out that when I use the segue editor my changes are not saved/used within a playlist. I've used PF a long time with folder based libraries on the PF machine itself and I've used the segue editor to full effect, so I've checked if I'm doing everything the same way as in the other setup. I can't find any difference, I don't believe it's got anything to do with the usage of de MLS, but I can't figure out what's going wrong. Do you have any suggestion ?
Kind regards,
André
ps. Auto Watch is still not working, Windows server 2012 can't be the problem, can it ?

Re: Segue editor : not saved
I guess I have found your issue:
Please try to download the new Media-Library-Server version from here (unzip the download to your ProppFrexx installation folder):
http://www.proppfrexx.radio42.com/downl ... xx_MLS.zip
This version also allows you to specify a 'Default Media Type' for the media libs.

Now I am a bit confused (about the segue-editor). I just tested it here and it works fine...
- what version of PF are you using?
- what has this issue to do with the MLS?
- what is your generalsetting for "Metadata/WaveForms - MetaData has Priority"?
- do the tracks within your playlist already have cue-points defined?
My testing worked like this:
- Opened a new and empty playlist
- added 5 tracks to the playlist (ie. right-click, 'Add - Add 5 random Tracks from...', selected a media lib)
- selected the 1st track and opened the Segue-Editor (1st and 2nd track are shown...)
- moved the 2nd track to the right (to overlap the tracks....segue)
- closed the Segue-Editor
- reopened the Segue-Editor
-> all was like before (with the segue set as before)...

Re: Segue editor : not saved
It sounds this time you are using a playlist-based media library - correct?
And you are changing the segues (cue-points) of certain tracks from within this media library - correct?
Please describe how you do that exactly...
Keep the following in mind:
The MLS loads the playlist-based media library into memory (as PFOA is doing).
As such you must reload that media-library on the MLS in order to 'see' your changes!
Also be aware 'how/where' you change the cue-points.
Note, that you MUST open the media-library (the playlist file) directly within PFOA - so that the same playlist file (which you referenced within the MLS) got modofied.
And again once changed within PFOA, it still needs to be reloaded within the MLS.
Have you done so?
Else, please describe the exact steps to reproduce your issue.
Meaning the exact steps you performed to test, which lead you to the impression, that "changes are not saved/used within a playlist" ?!
Regarding "Auto Watch":
A quick test revealed, that it seems to work fine here.
Same here:
- What is not working?
- Describe the steps to reproduce!
- Are you using a playlist- or folder-based media lib?
- Not working within the MLS or not within PFOA?

Re: Segue editor : not saved
Hi Bernd,
Answers to your questions :
- No, I'm using folderbased libraries within MLS.
- No, I'm not changing the cuepoints with, I'm using the segue-editor in a playlist between two tracks. So, several songs in a playlist, select one, open segue editor, change segue, save, close segue editor. Open segue editor again : segue is gone, back to it's state before the change.
Regarding autowatch, I'm downloading/testing your new version in a moment.

Re: Segue editor : not saved
Hi Bernd,
Sorry, had to do some family-things this weekend
I'm using 3.0.12.4. And, I don't think this issue has something to do with MLS. The reason that I mention it is that my other installations of PF using local folder based libraries are working fine. So, just for information.
My settings of Metadata/Waveforms Metadata has priority are set to it default setting (that's the same as on the 'local based' ones)
Some of my tracks has cue points defined, some not. When they are set, the segue editor will use them. But, also in that case it's not possibile to change.
I normally let a script create a playlist, but in order to test it exactly the same way as you did, I tried your testing steps. It didn't save the segue. I can try and do a screengrab of the process in order to show you ? (don't know if I can upload a .mov file to the forum)
Kind regards,
André

Re: Segue editor : not saved
Just to be sure - this should be UNCHECKED/OFF !My settings of Metadata/Waveforms Metadata has priority are set to it default setting
Is that the case?
Else, yes, a movie or some screen-shorts would be fine...we might also arrange a TeamViewer session to take a look at if that is easier...

Hi Bernd,
It's unchecked (which is default, according to the tooltip)
I'll send you a link to the movie in a DM.
Kind regards,
André

Re: Segue editor : not saved
After some local testing we revealed, that the core issue was related to using the MLS.
The v3.0.12.5. contains a bug-fix for this and an updated MLS!
