Scheduler bug, big red cross when changing viewing days
Scheduler bug, big red cross when changing viewing days
Hi Bernd,
When opening the scheduler (admin account) in PF latest version (3.0.12.13) everything seems normal.
But when I change the viewing days from 3 to 5 I get a big red cross, see screenshot.
To get rid of that big red cross I have to close the scheduler and than turn off off the green "man" scheduler and than turn it on again to get my scheduler back.
I read something it has to do with a graphic card or .NET.
I think this must be a PF bug, otherwise I couldn't get my scheduler back when turning off and turn it on again.
When I go open scheduler again all settings are back, but when I try to change the viewing days the red cross is back again.
Regards,
Bert

Yes I rebooted the system...
Also re-installed the .Net Framework installation.
At this moment after a second reboot it is stable...

Re: Scheduler bug, big red cross when changing viewing days
I would have no idea where this error comes from.
Could also be a corrupted .Net Framework installation.
I can absolutely not reproduce the error - especially it shouldn't have anything to do if the Scheduer is running or not, as the Scheduler View is totally independent of it.
It might also be an out-of-memory error...
Did you try rebooting your system?

OKi - let me know, if this happens again...
Could also be caused by a (hidden) Windows Update in the background...

Tonight we received a new red cross in our standard useraccount (limited rights).

Re: Scheduler bug, big red cross when changing viewing days
OK I will do that!
Yes its a weird machine
I am now removing the .layout files (a huge amount!)
Before we created for every user an account, now we have only 4 left.
Can I remove the old .userconfig files too?

Re: Scheduler bug, big red cross when changing viewing days
Yes the .userconfig might also be removed.
You just (unfortunately) loose any user specific config values.

OK will remove that .userconfig files too.
At this moment we do live broadcast and the red cross just happened again, so I think your comment about out-of-memory error could be the one.
We run a PC with only ProppFrexx with 12 GB of internal memory. Maybe we have to switch to 16 GB...
Do you have experience with a special brand memory? No we use Samsung.

Re: Scheduler bug, big red cross when changing viewing days
There definitely seems to be something crazy going on your machine...
It has definitely nothing to do with UAC - as I have tested it here on several machines and also tested this with other users having UAC enabled - no issue here or there.
So I would have no idea what is causing your trouble
The only idea I would have right now is to close PF and delete all "*.layout" files from your ProppFrexx AppUserData folder (e.g. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\radio42\ProppFrexx ONAIR\3.0).

12GB should be fine. How lagre are your Media Libs?
If they are rather big you might need/want to use the Media Library Server. Which releases PF from all the media lib loading/management. And decreases the memory usage of PF significantly. But how much memory is PF using? See TaskManager...
