ProppFrexx v2.0 .NET:
Broadcast Automation and Scheduling
Support:
- Is ProppFrexx Freeware?
No. In order to use ProppFrexx with all it's functions you need to buy a user license.
- How much does ProppFrexx cost?
The user license of ProppFrexx will only cost Euro 39.95.
- What does the ProppFrexx download contain?
The available online downloads contain the full functional ProppFrexx version. However the version will only work as a demo version until you enter the registration code.
The download does not contain the Windows .NET Framework Version 1.1 or the Windows Media Player 9 Series.
- On which plattforms does ProppFrexx run?
ProppFrexx is designed for Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 or Windows 98 Second Edition. Please see Intallation Requirements for details.
- What Media Players does ProppFrexx support?
ProppFrexx supports all Winamp 2.x and 5.x versions starting with 2.6. But we recommend to use 2.8 or higher.
It might also work with Winamp 3.x when using the 2.x compatibility plugin, but this was not fully tested.
The new Winamp 5.x version is again fully 2.x compliant and is fully supported.
- Is ProppFrexx CARP/DMCA compliant?
Yes. ProppFrexx does not check the compliance in a hardcoded manner. But ProppFrexx has extensive song history checking features (based on track, artist and album) with which you can ensure 100% compliance. Anyhow, the full compliance also depends on your script usage and media library content (e.g. number of available tracks).
- Does ProppFrexx use a database?
No. ProppFrexx uses no external database. All media tracks are referenced directly by the use of standard M3U files (which will act as a defacto ProppFrexx database file). In addtion ProppFrexx uses standard ASCII or XML configuration files to store its data. This makes ProppFrexx much more efficient, stable, reliable and easy to use.
- In what programming language is ProppFrexx written?
ProppFrexx is written in C# and is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.
- Can I install a registered version of ProppFrexx on multiple PCs?
Yes. The user license of ProppFrexx will only prohibit the use of a single license for multiple radio streams/stations.
- When I start ProppFrexx Winamp starts as well?
Yes. This is a desired behaviour - so you can place ProppFrexx in your Autostart folder and it will launch our radio station automatically. You might turn this feature off by using the ProppFrexx command-line option autostartplayer=False.
- When I run ProppFrexx and cue tracks a new Winamp instance will start?
ProppFrexx uses the command line option "/ADD" of Winamp in order to cue tracks to Winamp. So it is important that you turn off the "Allow Multiple Instances" parameter of Winamp! If you allow multiple instances of Winamp, this would result in starting a new instance of Winamp every time ProppFrexx is cueing a track.
- How to uninstall ProppFrexx?
If you think this makes sense ;-) then go to: "Control Panel > Software" and select ProppFrexx 2.0 to remove it from your system.
- More to come...
We will add new topics frequently.
- WMA Input v1.0 : this is actually the old WMA input plug in version, but the only version supporting real-time DSPs like the SqrSoft CrossFader (you need to install it over the current WMA v1.1 or v1.2 plug in shipped with Winamp 2.x; even if this is an old version, it uses the currently installed WMA codec)
- Much FX² : DSP stacker (e.g. useful when using an enhancer and a limiter/compressor plug in in parallel)
- Enhancer : might enhance the sound quality significantly when using it carefully, also removes peak noise levels
- SqrSoft Limiter : adjusting all sound files to the same volume level in real-time and optimizing the frequencies for later encoding
- SqrSoft CrossFader : automatic cross fader plug in, perfect for mixing subsequent tracks in your Winamp playlist, supports beat detection and silent removal
- Shoutcast DSP : the original Nullsoft plug in for encoding and streaming to a Shoutcast server
- Spacial Audio SAM encoder : good encoder plug in supporting various media servers in parallel (e.g. Shoutcast, Icecast, Windows Media Server etc.) could be used as an alternative to the Shoutcast DSP
- Spacial Audio SAM statistic relay : monitoring your current listener count of all your servers and updating the AudioRealm.com service
