Semi live broadcast

Hi,
I wonder if this iss possible in Proppfrexx Onair Enterprise:

We broadcast a lot from football games in Sweden, outdoor broadcast with a reporter on sight. We would like to do this as simple as possible.

Our idea is to record a wav-file on our iPhone and send it to a Dropbox synced to our server. Then we like the script to play this files with 3-4 songs between them. And if a recorded file is played once, it will not be played again.

So if there is no new files in the Dropbox folder, PF will continue to play music till a new file is uploaded.

Also I would like the files from Dropbox to be taged as Announcement with cue-points at the very start and end of the files. No fading or start next with 1-2 seconds remaining.

Is this possible in any way. Or do we need a person to manually import the files from Dropbox, set tags and cue-points?

Yes, that should be possible.
ProppFrexx can automatically assign a Media Entry Type (either as a default to a folder based media lib, or even to a script-line).
And yes, ProppFrexx can also perform the needed 'Automatic Cue Point Detection' (ACPD).
The parameters for the ACPD can be specified individually per Media Entry Type.
New files can be picked automatically from a given folder media lib, incl. sorting, i.e. always picking newest files first and incl. a history check to prevent files to be played out again.

Hi,
I have managed to set everything up and it works like i want. But PF still set cue-points in the middle of a word or even fades the speach.
How and where do I set up ACPD for this media lib?

Hi,
Managed to fix this.
Our server have "Playlist look ahead" set to 3. It works good when it's just music playing.
But can I set the look ahead to 1 for just this one script, and 3 for the rest?

Sorry, that was my next question. I did as you said with ACPD and it works as i like now. That's what I fixed.

I would like the Look Ahead to be 1 when this script is running cause it would give the reporter more time to record his interview etc. If the Look Ahead is set to 3 and there is no new recordings in the folder, PF would have to play the songs in the deck, and then the next 3 entries would be songs before the next entries is loaded. If PF just Look Ahead 1 entrie the reporter can record during the songs that is playing and still manage to upload the file in time for it to be played out.

But if i manually can change between 1 and 3 it works.

No, the 'Look Ahead' is currently a global parameter and cannot defined per script.
However I guess I don't understand what the 'Look Ahead' parameter has to do with the ACPD calculation or your previous question resp. what exactly you fixed :-)

You cannot specify ACPD for a media lib; but (as said above) the parameters for the ACPD can be specified individually per Media Entry Type.
However, you can specify a 'Default Media Type' for a media lib! And then specify the parameters for the ACPD for this type.

The ACPD parameter are defined in the general settings, section 'Mixing/Fading' - click on the button 'Mixing per Media Type...'

Good to hear.
I have also provided a new v4.0.3.52-beta, which includes the ability to specify a 'Playlist Look Ahead' parameter per script (which allows you to overwrite the default of the general settings).
To install the beta version, click on the blue question mark icon at the very top right of the main window and select "Check for Beta Versions..."
