Hotkey Mapping / TalkUser

Post by Adger »

Despite long time no see I really hope everybody is doing fine :-D

Anyways.

Versions affected: V 3.0.14.7 and 3.0.11.7 (both tested, other verisons unsure)

Problem:

Ribbon "Playback" mouseover "TalkUser" -> Tooltip.
Last line reads: "Alt F2"
For me translates to "Press Alt and F2 simultaneously to activate this function".

I did. Many times. On both stated systems. Doesnt work.

Further:

Settings -> GPIO/Remoting -> Keyboard Hotkey Mapping

MAIN_TALKOVER_TOGGLE, MAIN_TALKUSER_TOGGLE, PLS_CURRENT_PLAYPAUSEONLY_CURRENT - regardless of what keys I am mapping to these events: doesn't work. Stopped testing here, can't tell wether other events do not work.

System (both cases): Win 7 64

Mine are also Win7-64 so the OS doesn't seem to be the issue.
I did not change the Hotkey GPIO stuff since 2 years. So I can only add some extra debug logging to the next version to get a clue what's the issue on your machine. Else I am afraid I wouldn't know where to look at.

But can you confirm that it only the NumPad keys which are not working and other keys are working?!

The settings as they are:

Inside the mapping is like this:

This was working for a long time and now it isn't anymore. Only things changed: Update of PFOA and (mandatory) Windows-updates.

Aside from mouse and keyboard no other controllers are connected.

Testing your settings here just works fine!
How are you exactly testing things?

With the settings you see in pics: start PFOA, load a playlist (any), hit "autoplay", wait for some time, strike zero (from numberkeyblock) - nothing happens.

start PFOA, hit settings -> gpio -> in keyboard hotkeys section create a new mapping-set -> select it -> hit "OK" -> enter settings again -> gpio -> keyboard... -> hit the "keyboard definition" button -> hit "capture hotkey" -> press a key not mapped to something yet (for example "#" / 191 / OemQuestion) -> OK -> control command hit "edit" -> action dropdown -> select "main_talkuser_toggle" -> hit "new" -> ok -> hit new -> macro appears in hotkeylist -> hit ok -> hit ok -> close pfoa (aka quit).

start pfoa -> check setting wether test-set is selected in gpio / keyboard -> open any playlist -> autoplay -> wait some time -> hit (in this example) the #-key => nothing happens.

Unfortunately I can not reproduce the issue here.
Please see attached video, which demonstrates what I am doing, guess this is also what you are doing... but here all works as expected.
Note (that in the video), that I am pressing either the DIVIDE or NUMPAD0 key on the keyboard:
a) after I closed the general settings dialog
b) after I started AutoPlay of the playlist
Take a look into the ribbon bar for the changing 'TalkOver' resp. 'TalkUser' buttons...

So if nothing helps, I guess we need to make a TeamViewer session to figure the difference in your setup?!

One last try before we have to resolve to desperate measures like that: Which config-file stores these commands/macros? perhaps mine is fubar'ed?

The hotkey mapping files are using the extension .key and directly use the mapping name; e.g. "Default.key".
They are saved into your general config folder, i.e. the AppUserData folder (e.g. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\radio42\ProppFrexx ONAIR\3.0).
So in your AppUserData folder you might delete ALL "*.key" files to reset them all and then restart PF...
