Wrong track duration

Post by Quentin D »

Hi,
I don't know if it's a bug, in a library about half of my tracks shows a wrong duration (~0:15). When I load a track in a player, the value is correct, but the "Playtime" column still shows 0:15. I tried to Reload/Rescan the lib without success. If I check these tracks in the browser the duration is correct. The only thing different with the other libs is the files were uploaded using ssh.
Did you had already a similar issue?

Note, that there is a duration and a playtime value.
The latter takes your cue-in and -out values into account resp. also you Next cue-point; whereas the total duration is the total duration of the file. So may be this just confuses you?

No, my tracks are about 5:00 and the playtime or duration in the info window (alt+2) is wrong (about 0:15).

Please send me an example of such audio file to take a look myself. And where is the duration not shown correctly. Only in the find window, in the playlist, elsewhere?
I have so far never heard or experienced that the length is incorrect!

I don't think it is related to these audio files, because on my laptop all is correct. I think it happens something wrong in my library.
In attachment I added the same file 2 times, first loaded in a player and then just added in queue.
Little correction : the playtime is correct when it is loaded on the player.

If it is not related to the audio file but only related to you machine?!
Is it your machine then, if all is fine on your laptop?!
Being honest but I would have no idea what should be wrong with your lib, as a lib is basically a reference to you files.
What lib is it? A folder based lib?
And are all libs incorrect on that single machine or only one?

Only one lib is incorrect, a folder based library. But I asked just in case if you already got this problem. I think i'll simply delete the library then recreate it ;)
Thanks

No, I have never got this issue before.
Just delete the _synced_.pfp file and it will recreate automatically if you rescan it or restart ProppFrexx.

Even after deleting _synced_.pfp and reload/rescan the duration still were wrong. I had to delete the entire lib from the Media Libraries window and now it's ok.

Another thing (which is not related to this problem), did you changed anything in the behaviour of the _synced_.pfp file in the 4.0.0.32?
After the update on my laptop, it seems that it rewrite this file indefinitely (see attachment), with tmp files. The Busy Indicator flashes very often.
