GUID... Bug?
GUID... Bug?
Hi Bern,
If I sets mixing point in Tagger and then I export it to .CSV for import to Powergold and move MP3 to finally "music folder", GUID in Propp is changed... Why?

Re: GUID... Bug?
Moving a file might generate a new GUID. As only a file at the same location is considered the same.
Thats not a bug!

Re: GUID... Bug?
I save the song to the "export" folder, where I is sets mixing points, etc. and export it to the Powergold. Than I move it to a finally folder. Previously, it did not change the GUID.
Re: GUID... Bug?
I have not change anything with the GUID generation since ages - so I am pretty sure it is/was like this even in the v3
So how do you check/test things?
Did you explicitly save the meta data to the audio files TAGs?

Re: GUID... Bug?
I always save meta data to the audio files... I'll try to trace more...
Re: GUID... Bug?
And how do you test things?
Once the GUID was saved to the audio files TAG data - it should persist, even when moving the file to a different location (except that location is a defined folder based media lib and the same file name already existed there already before, but had a different GUID, in which case the previous GUID might be used).
Have you may be disabled the 'General' option in 'What Meta Data to Auto Save' setting (see general settings, section 'MetaData/WaveForm')?
