Normally yes, that's why I found it so puzzling.

But the situation is a bit unclear to me. Is the server really down? Since if it is down how can metadata be updated then? And if the server is not down what do you then mean by it is connected, but it is not?

And what was the issue with your sound card/playback? What solved it?

Here is todays log from shoutcast. Nothing wrong on the network, i have been working from the same location to a remote server and nothing has been a problem. And no alarms on the serverside for downtime.
I really dont understand what cause this error.

I can´t see anything wrong. I might have to try another soundcard maybe if its still related to sound?

What was your sound/play issue (which you seem to have resolved)?
And in the Network Monitor window, is the 'Send (KB)' column increasing when connected?

The log:
"<10/04/16@13:39:36> [source] no data (30s timeout). disconnecting."
indicates, that a connection is established by the source, but it is not sending any data.
This can be, in case the configured source mixer channel in ProppFrexx is not active or incorrect.
Have you checked this?!
So it seems, your streaming server configuration is not quite correct...
