Overlay Scheduler

Post by Frans »

Hi Bernd,

I just downloaded the latest version V4.0.5.35.

The Overlay scheduler is no longer working.
It is there, i can see it, or change it, as usual. But it won't suspend the running program/script anymore.

Any ideas?

Greetings,

Frans

That sounds strange, as I didn’t change anything with the overlay scheduler handling.
I even tried it here and it suspended the program here.

Is your Overlay Player coming up and playing?

I just uploaded a new v4.0.5.36 - I hope this solves your issue.

Hello Bernd,

I've made a screendump (Next overlay Test).

I can see the Overlay in the scheduler.
That's all. When the planned time is up, it just disappears.

I also made a video (mp4) but i can't upload it.

Greetings

What disappears? I am sorry, but I can not follow what you are saying?!
In the screen shot, it also looks, like you have placed the Advert-Entry as a playlist entry (as an embedded container) - at 09:18:14?
In that case only embedded overlay containers are used, but all other regular overlays are suppressed by default (unless you specify the ForceUsageNeverSuppress option with the other overlays).

Hello Bernd,

The advert is indeed an playlist entry. That works fine and is not a problem.

I am talking about the text at entry number 7 in red (in the previous screendump). There is a line there that says "Next Overlay Test" It warns for the next overlay and then at the correct time it used to start the overlay. This text disappeared without doing anything.

But i think i "fixed" the problem.

In the Overlay editor:
-i changed Start type into EndsAt (i usually don't use this type). With 120 seconds in the box Show.
-This worked.
-When i opened the Overlay Editor again the box Show was (re)set to 0 seconds by Proppfrexx.
-So I changed it again to 120 seconds. And since then it doesn't change back to 0 seconds.
- Then i changed Start type back into Soft.
- It worked. And it works untill now.

My guess is that the problem was with the box Show. I've tested this by now changing on purpose the value in the Show Box into 0 seconds. Proppfrexx reacted in the same way as with the bug.

So, for now, problem solved

Greetings, Frans

A value of 0 in the ‚Show in Advance‘ would indeed deactivate the overlay - this is as designed.
But it is good to hear, that it is now fixed.
I’ll still take a look what might have set it to 0?!

After the first Next Overlay at the hour in the new playlist, it did not appear any more and did not trigger another set block
