Two programs playing at the same time

Hello,

Yesterday, I've been told of a "problem" with PF a few days ago... I just checked the logs and I noticed that I had two fixed programs scheduled to play one after the other but in the logs and recordings , I can clearly see and hear that the first program did not stop after 2,5 hours and just went on for many hours (it stopped after 11h of play!) when the second one and the following started to play as expected. So I ended with two programs playing together at the same time. I decided to check how the programs reacted the other weeks (because it's a weekly schedule) and I realized that the program bugged exactly the same way the previous week of november BUT it was perfectly working and stopping in october. Nothing changed in the config I think...

We updated PF :

- from v4.2.0.6 to 4.2.0.8 the 29th of october
- from v4.2.0.8 to 4.2.1.1 the 10th of november.

Could it be related to an update?

The problem occured the 4th of november AND the 11th of november but not in october.
What should I do to verify and understand what happened (the debug logging was unfortunately disabled)?

Is there a "work-around" option that could help to avoid this and i.e. force the first program to stop at the end of its schedule in any case whatever happens after?

Thank you a lot,

jsonio

The latest version is v4.2.2.0. And I don’t think it is related to the update as nothing has changed with respect to the program scheduler.
However, I assume, that this is somehow configuration related.
How does your 2 programs look like?
And what do they play (individual normal tracks? A URL stream? Or a preproduced mix Show?)

And please provide the logs you are talking about.

Maybe one program was started manually or one is set to run as an overlay... there are a few possibilities.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your quick answer !
Here are all the details in captures, you will see the 2 programs are very basic.

I "hope" it will happen again the next wednesday with the debug log enabled !

Thank you,

Jsonio

From there logs I can actually not see, that any program was started twice or played in parallel!

The maked line just indicated a warning, that the mentioned program was not started, as the end date was already reached. This is a totally fine warning, as this can happen inside the scheduler, when you freshly Startup ProppFrexx. Or when there is a scheduler entry with a wrong ends date configured.

So I suggest upgrading to v4.2.2.0 and retry and monitor it.

Hello,

Yes it will be better with the debug log !
I can only say that the audio log let me hear that from 11.30, the two programs were mixed and playing together.

Thank you !

Any update after the update? Did that solve your issue?
