Delay song start through Segue Editor

Post by ykracht »

It would be a nice feature to be able to delay a song in the segue editor when you use an insert,
Like if you play a longer jingle between two songs, you can delay to start the second song so the jingle won't run through two song, or waste a couple of seconds of each song.

This is actually logically not possible, as the Segue-Editor 'just' defines the mix (segue) between 2 tracks.
And a 'Mix' is defined by 'starting a next track at a certain point in time of the previous track'.

If you want to 'delay' the 2nd track - just as you described - you need to first add a new track (the jingle in your case) in between the 2 other tracks within your playlist. The 'Segue-Editor' is actually not a 'Playlist-Editor' in such aspect.

Bernd, maybe ykracht can use transition elements. Would this be a solution?

No, 'Track-Insert-Events' within the Segue-Editor (or using e.g. 'Automatic Track-Insert-Transitions') would still start the next track with the defined NEXT cue-point.
As such 'Track-Insert-Events' are used to play a kind of overlay track, but would not 'delay' the start of the next track!
