Ok so what I did was follow the exact steps you did, and yes, everything worked as expected.
Now I can't reproduce the problem. So I'm wondering if it's something else.. I will try to find it, unless following your steps allowed it to work correct.
I'm going to restart the computer and see if that has any effect.
I'm using the same version you are. 12.2

**Edit

I restarted the computer and the settings have held. So it seems your magic process has fixed this. If it happens again I will report the exact steps it happened on. As of now it seems to work correct.

Please confirm which version you are using and please describe the exact steps to reproduce - as I am absolutely unable to reproduce your issue with v3.0.12.2.

This is what I am doing:
- open PF
- click on "New" to create a new playlist
- add a few tracks to that playlist
- click on "Save" to save the new playlist
- in the save dialog I select e.g. "C:\My Playlists" as the folder
- I close that playlist
- I click again on "New" to create another new playlist
- add a few tracks to that playlist
- I click on "Save" to save the new playlist
- the save dialog is now preselected with the "C:\My Playlists" folder
...
- I close PF and restart it
...
- I click on "New" to create a new playlist
- add a few tracks to that playlist
- I click on "Save" to save the new playlist
- the save dialog is again preselected with the "C:\My Playlists" folder
...
- I click on "Open" to open one of the saved playlists
- in the open dialog I select a playlist file out of the "C:\My Playlists" folder
- after opening a playlist, I close that again
- I click again on "Open" to open a playlists
- in the open dialog the "C:\My Playlists" folder is preselected
...
- I close PF and restart it
...
- I click again on "Open" to open a playlists
- in the open dialog the "C:\My Playlists" folder is preselected

As you can see, here it all works as designed and expected...so please provide the steps you are doing to reproduce the issue.

That would indeed be 'odd' ;-)

But note, that the folder location would only be 'saved' internally once you clicked OK in the Open/Save dialog.
E.g. if you for example clicked on 'Cancel' - it wouldn't 'saved' the last folder location.
May be this is what was different in your test...?
