We setup the system to use overlays for our station ID's at the top of the hour, however it still continues to fade out of songs to play ID's. Another issue is that we give most scheduled files a soft start and allow almost 7 minutes to play so it won't cut off songs, yet it still cuts off songs and plays almost exactly when it was told to.

Any assistance on this matter would be appreciated.

a) What are you settings of the resp. Station-ID overlays?
Note, that you must deselect the 'Supress Program' option in the overlay entry to let the overaly really play as an overlay (meaning the underlying playlist should not be stopped while the overlay is playing) - if that is what you want.
Also note, that the 'Mixing Time' value defines the overlapping time in case the overlay should be mixed with the regular program playlist (in case of 'Soft' start and 'Supress Program') - so setting this value to 0 might also change this behaviour.

b) What do you mean by 'Scheduled Files' - note that you can only schedule Overlays or Programs (which in turn typically start a Script).
So do you mean regular scheduled Programs or Overlays?
PLease post me a screenshot of you exact settings of the related scheduler entry.

As you can see, we are not using the overlay scheduler, but adding our Legals in as a fixed time element that uses overlaying, however they are not overlaying.

Ahh, so that's a totally different storry then.
I'll take a look at that scenario and let you know...
