Explorer Window Scrolling Optimized

Post by andre »

Hello, Bernd

I just did a update to version 4.0.0.36 and now i have a problem with reading my folders in the explorer window.
When i want to scroll in the folder ProppFrexx is getting slow.
And the navigation bar scrolls to te beginning of the folder by itself.
I had never this problem before, What is wrong here ?

Greetings, Andre.

Turn off the sorting (i.e. hold CTRL and click on the column header), so that no column shown a sort arrow - this to avoid jumping back to the currently focused/selected row. OR use the keyboard to scroll...

OR remove any tag data columns ... else the tag data needs to be read in ... before .36 it was not correctly reading in the tag data.
TAG data of the explorer folders needs to be done on-the-fly and the reading speed is directly related to the speed of your I/O sub-system.

There is not much I can do about it I am affraid...

I think the problem is the tag reading on the fly, so can you add a disable / anable option please ?
And now ProppFrexx freeze.
Pfff , i can't do my radio show like this, so i must go back to the previous version.

Bernd,

My problem isn't the update but my system.
It's getting slower and slower.
I did a system check and it turns out that my hard drive is bad.
I'm gonna replace that and do a clean windows install.
I'm sorry i thought is was the update but it's just a coincidence.
Have a great holiday season.

No problem at all (as it is often a software issue) !!
I hope you get your system repaired quickly.
