Is there a way to detect silence on an internet stream url that's in the playlist so it's skipped and not played next?

No not really. The availability of the URL is checked, but if it is available, it will be played. Normally the streaming server checks is for silence and disconnects silent sources?!

You can use the global silence detection on and mixer channel and trigger a Play next control-command

We are using Sonifex PS-SENDs.
I'm currently using the command PLS_CURRENT_PLAY_NEXT, but it will always give the set length of silence, and the reason I asked.
As each studio is going to be using ProppFrexx, I may have an easy solution I can program.
