stereo tool treated signal as input

Post by moogwill »

Hi Bernd...

I'm, using stereo tool, and I'd like to input the treated signal into another software. The Stereo tool is inserted in the master output that goes to the PF encoder.

any clue how to do that directly inside proppfrexx?

Thanks,
Thomas.

I don't understand what you try to do.
StereoTools works as a native VST/DSP within ProppFrexx, which means, the output of the respective ProppFrexx mixer channel already contains the processed StereoTool signal.
E.g. your other software might directly pickup that signal from the respective loopback device. But I don't know the capabilities of that other software - so I am potentially the wrong one to ask.

A ProppFrexx encoder picks-up the signal from any given mixer channel and either encodes that to a file or as a stream to a SHOUTcast or ICEcast server...

I do not get you?!
When you use an external mixer, I assume you feedback the output of your external mixer back into an ProppFrexx mixer input channel and then setup StereoTool on that mixer input channel?

Else please explain in greater detail how you are using ProppFrexx with your external mixer and StereoTool, i.e. what mixer channels you have defined, how you connect the mixer channels to your external mixer and where exactly you have used StereoTool.

I still do not get you?!
As said, please explain in greater detail how you are using ProppFrexx with your external mixer and StereoTool - and what you are trying to do?!

It sounds you are facing an issue with your 'other software' and not with ProppFrexx?

There's not really any issue... I'm just trying to obtain the treated signal to input it without using cables. maybe I can create an mixer input routed to an unused out of my soundcard then I'll be able to route my master out to this input, then I'd be able to get this treated signal into this second software.

Again you did not explain your setup!
Does your external mixer provide a soundcard?
What master output are you talking about?
And where do you run StereoTool?

Eg. if your external mixer is an analog one, you will need cables!
Else, if the mixer provides a soundcard, does that also come with an input channel to record the master output?
If yes, you can simply do what you described above.
