Moving a track insert sometimes results in duplicate insert
Hi Bernd,
I have a script that creates a playlist based on this sequence:
Load track: Jingle number 40 with Automatic Track Insert Transition Option enabled (mode: VO: End with Ramp of Next Track)
Sequential track: 40 from Playlist Top 40
Load track: Jingle number 39 with Automatic Track Insert Transition Option enabled (mode: VO: End with Ramp of Next Track)
Sequential track: 39 from Playlist Top 40
This creates a basic playlist that contains 40 songs with an embedded jingle that calls "number 40!" etcetera. This works well.
I use this playlist to manually start all tracks. During recording I sometimes like to move a track insert. I open the track in the PFL editor and move the blue TI3 to the left (not sure why this is called TI3 since I only have 1 track insert). I don't save anything but close the PFL editor with the X.
After this, the TI is indeed moved to the left. However, on a lot of tracks, the TI also plays at the original time, resulting in two (mostly overlapping TI's). Sometimes it goes well and only 1 TI is played using the same method. I can't tell what's the difference in the 2 scenario's.
Could you perhaps look into it?
Thanks,
Frank

Re: Moving a track insert sometimes results in duplicate insert
I think I found the difference: When a track with insert is already loaded into a player and you move the insert, the player starts the insert twice: once on the original time, once on the new (moved) time.
Unloading and reloading the tracks seems to fix it.

I’ll double check that!

Re: Moving a track insert sometimes results in duplicate insert
Hi Bernd,
Thank you very much! Unfortunately PFOA won't start after updating.
Are there specific system requirements for this build? The installation finishes succesfully but PFOA cannot start after the update.
I'm still on Windows 7 since my old Mac with Bootcamp unfortunately isn't compatible with Windows 10...
I've reverted to the previous version for now.
Cheers,
Frank

On some system a new dll was needed, which was missing.
A new v4.2.0.1 is now available!

Re: Moving a track insert sometimes results in duplicate insert
Hi Bernd,
Thanks, v4.2.0.1 does start, however the original problem is still there. Situation: Track with insert is loaded in player A. I Open PFL and drag the insert a few seconds to the left. Close PFL. I see the blue line only once. It is in the correct new position. I start player A. It first plays the visible insert, then it plays the now invisible insert at the time where it was originally located.
Cheers,
Frank

True, you are of course right - that slipped thru my fingers with the last update.
A new v4.2.0.2-update is now available which (hopefully) now fixes it

Re: Moving a track insert sometimes results in duplicate insert
Hi Bernd,
The new version seems to have fixed both problems, thanks!
I noticed that in the PFL player the original blue line remains visible when moving the TI (so two lines are visible when you move the TI). However, upon closing the PFL player, one line is removed. Not sure if it's by design that the original line remains visible.
Have a great weekend!
