Restore backup problem
Restore backup problem
Hi everybody,
I am changing hardware (pc) and for that reason I need to back up the data from the old pc to the new pc. I used the Proppfrexx backup tool, marked everything and did not exclude anything. Saved and copied over to the new pc. Used restore tool, marked everything did not exclude anything. Getting the message "Restore failed". Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks for some help

Re: Restore backup problem
The backup and restore feature is not designed for a migration to a different system and will mostly only work in a situation where all drives and folder names are different.
The restore operation is basically 'just' a CopyTo resp. CopDirectory operation, but that of course requires the exact same drive and folder structure on the PC.

Re: Restore backup problem
Ok, so what do you recommend for migration?
Re: Restore backup problem
Just do a a manual copy or recreate the data, depending on the effort.
That of course depends on your overall effort, scripts, media libs etc. most of the times it is not really much effort and only a few minutes task.
