Advertising Management:
This comes as an extra tool/application which can directly be started from within ProppFrexx ONAIR or even independently (ProppFrexx Advertising.exe).
The default password for the ProppFrexx Advertising tool is "ProppFrexx".
This tool allows you to manage all your advertising partners and assign campaigns to these partners.
In addtion you define your logical advertising slots here.
An advertising slot is a placeholder which serves as a container to play out any partner campaigns.
An advertising campaign defines the time in which certain advert tracks should be played out with certain advert slots.
As such a partner campaign has (beside others) the following attributes:
- list of audio tracks assigned to the campaign
- list of advert slots in which this campaign should be used
- start time of the campaign
- end time of the campaign
Note, that within an advert slot only one audio track of the campaign will be used at a time.
You might however assigne multiple audio tracks to a campaign, to e.g. play a different/random audio track for each slot occurrence.
The advert slot assignement within a campaign is used to know when the campaign should actually be played.
Example:
You have defined the following advert slots:
1. 'Weekday'
2. 'Weekend'
Note, that you are using these slot names within the above Overlay-Scheduler to effectively play out adverts.
E.g. in the Overlay-Scheduler you might have placed several Overlay-Entries of type 'AdvertSlot-Weekday' and/or 'AdvertSlot-Weekend' to trigger the physical playout within ProppFrexx ONAIR.
You have futher defined the following partner:
1. 'Partner A'
2. 'Partner B'
Now you start defining partner campaigns, e.g. for Partner A:
1. 'Campaign 1': 17.09.2010 til 31.10.2010 with 3 audio tracks assigned to advert slot 'Weekday'
2. 'Campaign 2': 01.10.2010 til 31.10.2010 with 1 audio track assigned to advert slot 'Weekday' and 'Weekend'
3. 'Campaign 3': 01.10.2010 til 30.12.2010 with 2 audio tracks assigned to advert slot 'Weekday' and 'Weekend'
etc.
Same could be done for Partner B:
1. 'Campaign X': 01.09.2010 til 31.11.2010 with 3 audio tracks assigned to advert slot 'Weekday' and 'Weekend'
2. 'Campaign Y': 20.10.2010 til 31.12.2010 with 5 audio tracks assigned to advert slot 'Weekday'
etc.
As you can see each campaign has a validity period and a list of assigned advert slots - as such for any given day a list of campaigns are valid for the assigned advert slots.
Or in other words: for a specific advert slot and a given day a list of valid campaigns can be calculated.
And this actually happens when an AdvertSlot type is used in the Overlay-Scheduler.
For each campaign assigned to that given advert slot and day one audio track is taken from the campaign to add this to the Overlay-Playlist.
E.g.
You have defined an Overlay-Entry for the 17.10.2010 at 15:00h which should use the OverlaySlot 'Weekend'.
So for the slot 'Weekend' and the day 17.10.2010 the following advert playlist would be generated:
- 1 Track out of 'Partner A - Campaign 2'
- 1 Track out of 'Partner A - Campaign 3'
- 1 Track out of 'Partner B - Campaign X'
When using the same advert slot in other Overlay-Entries within the Overlay-Scheduler the same logical playlist would be generated (but possibly with other audio tracks, if you have defined multiple audio tracks per campaign).
Pretty simple, isn't it
Finally the Overlay-Player generates specific log files when an advert slot is effectively played out by the Overlay-Player.
The 'Billing' functionality allows you to generate Billing-Reports for a monthly period for all or selected partners.
This calculates the total advertising prices based on the slot/campaign info given.
The detailed billing report might even be exported to Excel, Word, PDF, etc.
Perfect reporting to write your advert bills.
