issue with line-in feed

Post by jbmusic »

Hi All,

we are working with PF already for a few years.
Last year we also replaced our general play out (non stop / live feed treu line in) in the datacenter.
We have a strange issue during some of our live shows. This happends random expect 1 moment on wednesday aprox 20.59.00.

Normal we play nonstop as wel live shows true the regular program scheduler. thats looks like the pictures as enclosed.

We use always a script (see example pics)
example1.jpg
we start the script soft when the overlay scheduler has been finished.
So we have news and some pay off's, and afterwarts the program scheduler take over the regular live show.

When the live show start we use the line-in which automaticly fade's open. (mute/unmute). This works mainly fine, but now comes the issue... randomly he stops aprox 40 / 50 sec. before xx.59.40 muting the signal and the show is silent.
The line in is still on air, but the signal is already been muted.
example2.jpg
today we had once again a live show during the afternoon and around 12.58/59.xx as wel 13.58/59.xx we had this issue. When i look at the log of the program scheduler i thought this could be the cause of the issue, but i am not shure... (24-8-2019 12:58:44... around the time the program is muted)
example5.jpg
24-8-2019 11:58:51: Program:LOZ Mattinee (LOZ Matinee), Start:24-8-2019 12:00:00, End:24-8-2019 12:59:59, Started:True
24-8-2019 12:58:44: Program:LOZ Matinee (LOZ Matinee), Start:24-8-2019 13:00:00, End:24-8-2019 13:59:59, Started:True
24-8-2019 13:58:46: Program:LOZ Matinee (LOZ Matinee), Start:24-8-2019 14:00:00, End:24-8-2019 14:59:59, Started:True

now my question is if there is somebody more having this issue, or is this something new?
I hope somebody can help me to solve this small issue we are facing.

It looks, that in your mixer input channel you have selected the ‘Mute on Overlay’ option.
Please deactivate this and try again, as this might interfere with the LineIn operation.

Maybe I did misunderstood your issue?!
What exactly is muted resp. Not Unmutes?

Did I understand it correctly, that the Overlay plays out just fine, but that after the related program is not started correctly? Ie. That the mixer channel of the lib-in feed is not unmuted correctly when the program is supposed to start?

Hi Bernd

The line in Will be unmuted when the program scheduled starts the script with the line in.. the program should have duration til the next overlay start but the line in is sometime muted approx 50 sec before the overlay-scheduler should start. So this means there is a short silence of approx 50 seconds. Only on Wednesday this issue is structurally, the rest random

Ah, now I got it.
Your LineIn feed script line is scheduled to be 59:49 long. Could it be (as your program starts Soft) that the line in ends a bit early?
And could it be, that you have scheduled two subsequent LineIn programs?
E.g. that the 2nd one already mutes the previous?

Hi Bernd,
Thanks for your reply
We have made the line in program script for 1 hour 59.59
And we use just 1 line in feed.

But I was thinking when I see the new program been scheduled already at xx.58.46 for example somethings the mute function is triggerd or is this not possible ? That could explain the 50 sec silent
