Silence detection and stereo loss
Silence detection and stereo loss
Hi,
We juste noticed an unexpected behavior of the Silence detection function..
The OnSilence() was triggered by a temporary loss of one side of our stereo output (see the waveform).
As this sort of cable-diyng shortcircuits can happen few seconds before someone notice this, is it possible to configure the silence detection to avoid that sort of false detections ?
Solution could be to analyse signal as a full stereo instead of two independant mono channels or as a mono downmix.
Best regards,
Fred

Re: Silence detection and stereo loss
No, currently the silence detection works on the left channel only and not on an additional mono down-mixed signal.
I can take a look in a future release to change this, but this would require some changes. So this is nothing which comes quick...
On the other hand - I believe, that it is good this way, as you detected a bad cable thru this approach
